The Asheville Hospitalist Group, PA was founded in 1997 by a small group of physicians dedicated to providing inpatient internal medicine services to adult hospitalized patients. Today our group has 21 board certified internists who provide hospitalist services to Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. Our ongoing strategic partnership with Mission Hospitals, the tertiary referral and trauma center to the seventeen counties of Western North Carolina has strengthened both organizations.
The Asheville Hospitalist Group has helped Mission Hospitals achieve Solucient® Top 100 Hospital status since 2002, the Premier Quality Award® since 2005, HealthGrades® Top 50 Hospital and National Recognition for endocrinology in US News & World Reports®. We staff the internal medicine teaching service for the Mountain Area Health Education (MAHEC) family medicine residents, part of the UNC-Chapel Hill family medicine residency program. Our members actively participate in many Mission Hospital and Asheville community committees and projects integrating the Asheville Hospitalist Group into the fabric of Western North Carolina.
The Asheville Hospitalist Group provides 24/7 coverage to Mission Hospitals unassigned patient population and has 24/7 voluntary admitting arrangements with most of the region's private practice physicians. An electronic medical record (EMR), web based charge capture, electronic answering services, in-house billing and collections give our physicians the tools and peace of mind necessary to provide academic quality medicine in a community setting.
