What do you find most rewarding about your area of practice? The most rewarding part of hospital medicine is having a direct and immediate positive impact on acutely ill patients in our community. Also, there is no on-call time, so that when I'm at home, I can truly enjoy my time off with my family.
Why did you decide to specialize in your specialty? I chose internal medicine because I enjoy helping to discover a diagnosis. I also enjoy managing acutely ill patients in an ICU setting and working with families in times of crisis, transition and when dealing with end-of-life issues.
What do you like most about practicing at Mission Health System? The best part of practicing at Mission Health System is the quality of our doctors and staff and support from the hospital.
Personal Interests: Dr. Owens is married with two children. They have a small farm where they enjoy the care of animals, locally grown foods and outdoor sports. He also enjoys being actively engaged in the financial markets.
